Description
Belemnites were squid-shaped cephalopods. In the foreground, one has caught a small fish. Behind, another belemnite escapes from the jaws of an ichthyosaur spewing ink as it swims away. Floating above is a tree trunk covered with crinoids. At lower left are slipper-like shells called gryphaea. The fish nearby at right is a school of Dapediums. Top right is an ammonite. on the seafloor you can see some ammonite & belemnite shells also an ichthyosaur skeleton. Some will become fossilised.
