I was commissioned to do two War of the Worlds paintings. One is set in Victorian times, based on H G Wells's story (see no. 0612), and this one is set in modern times. I have shown London on a fine summer's day, when out of the blue gleaming saucer-shaped spaceships sweep into view, with energy pulses blasting at everything in their wake.
