1619 Life on a Tidally-Locked World
Artistic impression of life on a world that does not spin, that is it is tidally-locked. The parent star of this hypothetical planet never rises or sets, it stays in the same place in the sky all the time. If there were plants, one can imagine leaf-like structures all facing the same direction competing with each other to reach for the light. Perhaps every now and then, terrific storms thrash the plants, so they have to continually regrow. Something is disturbing the waters... an animal... possibly intelligent.
