I read that potentially, photosynthetic life could exist in the atmosphere of a binary brown dwarf star orbiting a stable G type star (ie Sun-like). And that the atmosphere would be highly reflective in infrared light due to photosynthetic life. Imagine telescopically searching the binary star systems, hunting for brown dwarf with unusually reflective atmospheres... Here we have, as part of their life cycle, symbiotic plant/animal gasbags spiralling upwards from deeper cloud decks. As they reach a certain height, they release juveniles which would then float and feast amongst the green microscopic photosynthetic clouds. They would then descent down again in other far away places on the brown dwarf. Note that the juveniles are not falling down, they are in neutral buoyancy, they are being released while the gasbags are rising.
