"Sound Arising" Cochlear Implant: This is a symbolic painting to show that thanks to the spiral-shaped array of electrodes in my inner ear I am able to hear more than ever before. I wanted to share the special moment when the implant was first switched on, through this painting. The constellation of electrodes is twinkling to show the sounds being heard for the first time. The colours of dawn also represent new sounds and the icy mountains symbolise clear, crisp, beautiful noises.
