An idyllic scene of a forest during the Jurassic Period. The plants are:- Background: shows a forest of Araucaria in the mist. Middle distance: shows a bank of tree ferns similar to the living Dicksonia Antarctica. Some pine trees are shown at right. Foreground: The horsetails at the centre are Equisetum columnare. These grew quite tall and had stems of a few centimetres in diameter. At extreme right is a tree trunk of Ginkgo digitata. The branch at the top is part of the same tree and shows the G. digitata leaves.
